 John Detweiler's Funhouse Ramp Mod

Hi...Great web site!  Here is a Funhouse Mod of my creation.  I believe that the steps ramp should always deliver the ball to the steps shooter.  On my game, the ball would often bounce out of the shooter lane after dropping from the steps ramp...very frustrating.  After all, there are two separate ramps directing the ball to two specific places.  Anyway...as seen in the attached photos...the ball will reach the end of the steps ramp and land on the brass, spring loaded ramp.  The weight of the ball overcomes the spring and the ball falls to the playfield.  At this point the ball is resting on the playfield and still in contact with the brass ramp. As the ball rolls down, the spring loaded ramp retracts and pushes the ball down and to the left, delivering the ball to the steps shooter every time.  The ramp fully retracts out of the way for the steps shooter launch.  Additionally, the yellow post rubber has been shaved to eliminate bounce off when shooting the ball to the steps.  I posted this mod last year on RGP without photos. Some called me a cheater and others thought it was a good idea.  I think that Williams intended that the steps ramp deliver the ball to the steps shooter rather than have it be up to chance...hence the two different ramps.  The brass ramp just wraps around a support on the steps ramp and the spring attaches to the ramp from above.  The mod is not permanent in any way and can be removed in seconds without a trace.  I've had this installed on my game for about a year now.  It works every time.  Thought you might be interested.
